Sunday, February 2nd, is the feast of the Presentation of the Lord, traditionally known as the feast of the Purification of Mary, its colloquial name being Candlemas. It was called Candlemas because of a blessing of candles and procession that took place at the beginning of this feast days' Mass. On this day, as we celebrate the purification of the Blessed Mother and the presenting of Jesus in the temple as the light of the world, there will be a blessing of candles and indoor procession at the 10:00 am Mass at St. Antoninus. Please come and join us for this special liturgy of the Church and please take one of the blessed candles to your home to use while you and your family pray! Blessed candles will be available at each parish after Mass to take home for you and your family to pray with.
