2020 meeting schedule
We generally meet at St. Antoninus Church. Please bring a mask and social distancing will be in place. Also bring a drink if you want.
Dec: We finish the 'Getting More out of Prayer' booklet by completing session 5 together and discover the generosity of the Lord! Participate in the cookie exchange if you want - bring 1 1/2 dozen cookies indivually wrapped or in a zip lock bag for exchange with a cookie tin for yourself for storage.

Jan: Meet St. Antoninus, the patron saint of our parish! Handout: Surrender novena.
Feb: An insiders’ look at the Stations of the Cross, using peoples’ personal experience of visiting sites of Christs’ passion, such as the Via Dolorosa, along with the booklet ‘Stations of the Cross with Pope Francis’, we’ll gain more insight into Christs’ passion as we begin our LENTEN journey.
March: The life of Blessed Carlo Actuis, declared Blessed on 10/11/2020. He is on the road to become the first millennial saint.“ To always be close to Jesus, that’s my life plan”. With these few words Carlo Acutis outlines the distinguishing feature of his brief existence: “To live with Jesus, for Jesus, and in Jesus”. Handout: novena and prayer.
April: Eucharistic miracles of the world from Carlo Actuis exhibitions, which occurred over the centuries in various countries and are recognized by the Church. An example, in 1991 in Betania, Venezuela which was also video taped. Handout: Eucharistic miracle brochure designed and created by Carlo Acutis.
May: As possible with COVID guidelines. A morning visit to Our Lady's farm and Church in Falmouth, KY, including confession, rosary and Mass. Followed by bag lunch on the grounds.
June: Conversion stories; 1) Fr. Donald Calloway, excerpt from his website; Before his conversion to Catholicism, he was a high school dropout who had been kicked out of a foreign country, institutionalized twice, and thrown in jail multiple times. 2) Dr. Allen Hunt; Allen stepped aside July 1, 2007, as Senior Pastor at Mount Pisgah, an evangelical Methodist congregation serving more than 15,000 persons each week through all of its ministries in Alpharetta, Georgia and converted to Catholicism.
July: Gifts of the Holy Spirit!
August: The booklet, 'Letter to a Suffering Church, a Bishop speaks on the Sex Abuse Crisis' will guide us through this distrubing topic along with an outline for group discussion designed just for this booklet. A video will also be shown discussing the McCarrick scandal.
Sept: Book review, “Broken Down Jalopies, and other short stories” with author, Sarah Hellman PhD.and gain an understanding of how perspective can lead you to a happier and more peaceful life.
Oct: Art Workshop with Sarah Hellman, PhD. Highlighting the ministry of Art For All People (AFAP). Art touches our lives in profound levels. AFAP believes in a world where the arts are integral to our lives; we celebrate both our differences and our commonality through the power of the arts.
Nov: Meet St. Francis Mother Cabrini. She was the first U.S. citizen to be canonized as a Saint by the Roman Catholic Church, on July 7, 1946. Her deep trust in the loving care of her God gave her the strength to be a valiant woman doing the work of Christ.
Dec: Review of Matthew Kelly’s book, ‘I Heard God Laugh’. If you ever wondered how Matthew Kelly has been able to write and speak the way he has over the past three decades, he is about to share his secret with you. As he shares what transformed his life, along with intimate details of his own journey and struggle, he teaches us how to apply the great spiritual lessons learned to our own lives.
