We are pleased to announce the formation of a new club for our young musicians and vocalists at St. Antoninus Parish. The purpose of this new music club is to encourage grade school and high school musicians and vocalists at St. Antoninus to explore both sacred and secular music through their own instrumental and vocal musicianship at scheduled parish recitals, parish concerts, workshops and through performances at selected St. Antoninus Masses annually. In addition to individual and group performances of their own, club members will also be exposed to a series of sacred and secular performances throughout the year including performances at the St. Peters in Chains Con-cert Program, the Cincinnati Symphony, the Cincinnati Opera, CCM programs, the Blue Wisp Jazz Club, the Aronoff Center Broadway performances and other selected musical experiences around Cincinnati. St. Antoninus MUSICA JUVENIS club membership is designed for St. Antoninus students in grade school and high school that currently take private instrumental or vocal lessons or for students that perform in their school band, orchestra or choral group. There will be no annual club fee or fundraising necessary as the club’s activities will be "fee per activity" based.

Our first successful group recital was held on August 11, 2012. You can find the recital program and notes for this performance at the St. Antoninus web-site under the MUSICA JUVENIS club heading. Our next meeting will be in the form of a visit to see Awadagin Pratt perform at CCM on Monday, October 22, 2012 (no cost). We will have a parent and club member information sharing meeting at 7:00 p.m. that same evening (October 22) in the Undercroft Youth Room before departing to CCM to see Mr. Pratt’s per-formance which starts at 8 p.m. and concludes by 9 p.m.

Those grade school and high school students interested in this new club should send a note (or have their parents send a note) to Mr. John Geraghty (club moderator) at geraghtyjs@fuse.net detailing the student’s private music studies experience and/or the musical group with which the student is affiliated. Mr. Geraghty can be reached by phone as well at 347-9696. Young grade school musicians or vocalists are welcome too! We will find age appropriate musical opportunities and performance experiences for all St. Antoninus grade school and high school musicians and vocalists interested in joining MUSICA JUVENIS.
