Dear
Parents,
This summer we are going to have a renovation project completed which will
allow our HVAC (heating, ventilation, and **air conditioning system)
to be controlled via a computerized system. This will entail tearing out
the registers in the old section of the building, installing new
registers, and retrofitting the registers in the new section with
electronic controls. As you can imagine, there will be a lot of dust.

One
thing I have learned in construction/renovation is very little goes
exactly according to schedule. For this reason, we will be starting the
2012-2013 school year the day after Labor Day on Tuesday, September 4th.
This will allow for the project to be completed and the school to be
cleaned prior to the first day of school.
Online
we have three calendar options. All three options start September 4th.
Option 1, has a shortened Christmas break and an Easter “pause” it ends
school on June 4th. Option 2, has a full Christmas and Easter
Break and ends on June 12th. Option 3, is similar to Option 1
- it has a teacher in-service in October, Christmas break is a little
longer, and it maintains the Easter “pause” of Friday, Monday and
Tuesday. In Option 3, our last day of school is June 6th.
Please
understand:

Starting
after Labor Day is for this year only.

Only the
three calendars online are options. No other calendar options are to be
considered.

The
calendar with the most votes will be the calendar for the 2012-2013 school
year.
